– SATURDAY
The
seven day camp of NSS unit commenced with the reception of camp members at 9’o
clock. Reception was followed by registration. After registration all
volunteers engaged in cleanling the ground of the camp and camp surroundings.
Sri. Suresh Kokkot, HSST conducted an ‘Ice Breaking’ which helped the
volunteers to avoid their homesickness, stage fear and they became alert, enthusiastic
and fresh. They slowly began to involve the function by introducing themselves.
After the function the inaugural function started at 2 PM. The
function started with the NSS song. Smt. P. Sathy, Chairperson, Education
standing committee, Madikai gramapanchayath chaired the function. Sri. Suresh
Kokkot, HSST delivered the welcome speech. Smt. K. Sujatha, Chairperson,
Education standing committee, Kasragod Jilla Panchayath inaugurated the
function. Felicitation speeches were delivered by the eminent persons Sri. P.
Narayanan- Standing committee chairman, V. Krishnan-Ward member, P. V. Lakshmi
– ward member, V.K.Sasidharan-PTA President-GUPS Poothakkal and T. Krishnan. Sri.
Priyesh Kumar. K, the programme officer deliverd the vote of thanks. The
function ended at 4.30PM.
At sharp 5PM the class was started by the Programme Officer. The
X’mas carol conducted by the volunteers visited the nearby houses. The cultural
programme started at 8.30PM. and analysis of the days programme was started at
9.30 pm.

– SONDAY
The
volunteers had done jogging and exercise. After assembly health survey was
conducted by the volunteers at 9 AM. Sri. Sugathan C. G, Assistant Engineer,
KSEB conducted a class on the topic “Power conservation and safety
measurements”. It was a very nice and useful class. Volunteers became more
aware about the subject.
At 6 PM
an interview was conducted with Sri. K. M. Kunhikannan, the freedom fighter.
The cultural programme started at 8.30 PM. Almost all the volunteers
participated in the programme. All of them were happy and enthusiastic. The
programme analysis of the day was done at 9.30PM.

- MONDAY
As
usual, after morning exercise and assembly the volunteers divided into groups
and engaged in health survey. After
having lunch, Sri. Muhammed sherief, GVHSS Thalangara conducted a class on the
topic “ Art of Oration” at 2 PM. It was very interesting and useful class. It
helped the volunteers to become self confident to conduct an oration without
stage fear.
A consolidation and analysis of health survey was done at 6.30 PM.
As usual the cultural
programme started at 8.30PM and followed by days programme analysis.

- TUESDAY
On the
4th day of the camp also, the volunteers woke up and began to act
enthusiastically. After exercise and assembly, volunteers divided into groups
and engaged in ground work in the camp. A class was conducted by Sri. Anand
pekkadam on the Topic “Nature and Man”. It influenced the volunteers very much.
After attending the class some volunteers even ready to give up some of their
habits like drinking tea which affects their health.
At sharp 6 o’clock a
documentary “Daivasoothram” produced by NSS Unit, GHSS Pilicode was exhibited.
Sri. M.V.Kunhikrishnan and team conducted a folk song at 7 PM. All the
volunteers participated with them. As usual after cultural programme and
programme analysis of the Day camp gone to bed.
28/12/2011
- WEDNESDAY
As Usual after morning exercise and assembly volunteers started
ground working in the camp at 9 PM itself.
Sri. Radhakrishnan Aduthila, Rtd Lecturer, DIET conducted a class on
“Pilgrimage to value”.
At 6.30 a debate was done with Sri. Madikai Unnikrishna Marar on
“Art of Percussion”.
Cultural programme started at 8.30 PM and followed by
programme analysis of the day.

- THURSDAY
The 6th
day of the camp also started with very vigorously. As usual after morning
exercise and assembly all volunteers engaged in ground work at 9 AM.
Sri. K.
M. Ramesh, HI, PHC was conducted a class on the topic “Life Style Disease”. It
was very witty and interesting but very effective and fruitful. Through
humorous, day to day experiences he brought the volunteers to serious things
that they should beware about. No doubt it was a very useful class.
In connection with “Krishikoottam” programme school level vegitable
planting was started at 4.30 PM. Cultural programme started at 7 PM and
followed by camp fire.

- FRIDAY
The last and seventh day of the camp started with exercise. School
level vegitable planting started at 9 AM. The valediction ceremony started at 2
PM. The ceremony was commenced with NSS song. Sri Suresh Kokkot delivered the
welcome speech and Smt. K.V. Sushama, Chairperson, Standing Committee, Madikai
Grama Panchayath presided the function. Sri. Madathinatt Rajan (Vice President,
Madikai Grama Panchayath) inaugurated the ceremony. Many eminent persons like,
Sri. K. Gangadharan (Ward Member), K. Narayanan (PTA President), Sri.
Dhanajayan (PTA Memebr) K. V. Kumaran and E. V. Padmanabhan (Senior
assistant) delivered felicitation speech. Master Ajith, NSS Volunteers
secretary gave vote of thanks.
We feel proud to state that the seven day camp of our NSS Unit could
very successfully carried out. Almost all days have “Dawn to dusk” programme. We could make aware of and
inculcate the mind of the volunteers the importance and potentiality of National Service Scheme. Also they are aware
of their own role to play in the programme. We were able to conduct the camp in
a more effective, befitting and fruitful manner.
